Kabonnagreen+ cool as cucumber…. :)

I have to say my go to everyday is cucumbers.

It’s not that i crave them as much as i just love the way they make me feel.   I think if you are not having an aversion to them, and your pregnant eat or juice a cucumber.   Here is why I think they rock and how they have been helping me throughout my pregnancy.  Also even if you’re not pregnant they have huge benefits too.   So something for all enjoy!

1.  They help you feel good and be in a good mood :).

They are full of the B’s.  The B vitamins which are also known as the feel good Vitamin.   That’s right they help you feel good and be in a good mood.  not to mention all these gems which are awesome for helping baby grow (Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Potassium and Zinc.)

2.  They help tighten up your skin, improve complexion, and reduce or get rid of cellulite!

So yeah pretty awesome for pregnancy since my belly is expanding daily.  This helps to keep the skin-tight and improve its elasticity.. yay!

(Cucumber causes the collagen in your skin to tighten, firming up the outer layer and reducing the visibility of cellulite.)

3.  Keep off hunger pains and keep you full!

They suckers are full of water and help keep you hydrated and feeling full in between meals and gives you that feel good boost throughout the day./

4.  They are very useful to cope with headaches.

Being Kabonnagreen+  i have fallen victim to headache land with all these extra hormones… and cucumbers have been very useful for coping.   How does this happen ( Cucumbers contain enough sugar, vitamin B and electrolytes to replenish essential nutrients which the body lost, keeping everything in equilibrium.)

5.  Helps regulate blood pressure.

I have very low blood pressure.  But if you have high it does the same thing.   This is great because when my blood pressure gets to low its like i have been zapped.. cucumbers are like my little defibrillator cart i can pack in my purse.  (Cucumber contains minerals and sodium which helps to regulate blood pressure)

6.  Avoid Puffy Eyes and Swelling in the body.

WEll naturally in 3rd trimester women tend to have some swelling.  But lucky the cucumber is great for preventing this and coping.   Yay!

Here are a few of my favorite ways to enjoy cucumbers!

1.   Raw and sliced topped on a salad!

2.  Raw and Sliced with a side dip of tahini mixed with olive oil and balsamic vinegar!

3.  I love to juice cucumbers i juice like 2-3 at time you get heaps of juice out them they are packed with so much water.. its awesome. I combine them with a lime or lemon.. or i want extra flair i add an apple, or romaine lettuce.. yum!

Kabonnagreen+ 3rd Trimester

Today Sunday is 3rd trimester!  Happy Easter!

I am starting to get excited about meeting my baby girl.  Which is really fun to realize and say.  She moves with me all the time.   Its nice now to feel her move.   She has more of personality to me in my body now.  I am starting to recognize her sleep cycles and things “she likes.”  Funny thing like me she loves water.  So whether i am in a bath tub or a pool there is this deep sense of happiness or relaxation that comes over me.   Also this girl loves herself a good pelvic tilt.

It’s actully 3am now.   We have a little routine her and i.   She wakes me up to pee about this time, then i look out the window and do some deep breathing and stretches.  Then sit down to surf or type on the web.  During this time she has little movements that feel like not so much kicks as she is rolling side to side.. Then after a little while back to bed for some more sleep till morning.

I feel like its game time.   Crunch time.   She is coming in 3 months.    I have signed up for some classes to prepare for the birth starting in May.   Mr. Kabonnagreen and i took a yoga/massage for birth class this week to help us prep.  IT was wonderful to have Mr. Kabonnagreen breath with me and help me relax and stretch.   He is going to be the perfect birth partner.

Where in second trimester i was feeling anxious a lot of the time now i am feeling calm and focused.  ITs really nice.   I am having some complications here and there with headaches, some tailbone pains, low blood pressure ect.  But it’s not phasing me.   I have a full heart and an open mind and i feel grateful for the life inside me.

Also stretching, staying hydrated, eating well, and moving everyday does wonders for the spirit.   PLus i am having a hoot designing my walk in closet into a nursery.   Finding the perfect lighting, mirrors, creating ceiling art, and basically creating a mini installation for the room.   I feel like it’s not just a room a baby would like but any human.   I like that while i am going through this transformation that the closet is being transformed too.  That it’s this creative outlet to turn something functional into something whimsical and beautiful.

There are a few tools in my belt i use daily to help me cope and thrive in pregnancy.

1.  Raspberry Leaf Tea and Pregnancy Tea Read about the Benefits!

2.  I sleep with this body pillow  helps keep me on my left side and makes my alignment feel great.

3.  Prenatal yoga ( pelvic tilts and squats are so awesome)  i am taking this class and also doing this tape.

4.  Water exercise  being weightless and buoyant feels amazing. ( also a great place to meet some nice ladies : )

5.  dancing anything that moves my hips and gives me that rush to feel alive!

6. Warm baths   they relax my whole body and sooth and aches or pains

7.  Juicing!-  Favorite combo Cucumber, Romaine, Lime, and Apple very hydration and full of calcium!

8.  Lots of snuggles with mr. Kabonnagreen.   Human touch so important helps stimulate baby development.

9. Eating foods that support a healthy body for me and baby.  While not feeling deprived.   Tuning in to what not only i need but what she is telling me she needs too.  ( so far she really loves mangos, and grapes!)

Here is a book that has helped guide me : The 100 Healthiest Foods to Eat During Pregnancy!

While i don’t eat any cheese, meat, milk, or yogurt.  I have found there other suggestions and recommendations to be very helpful and help cope with each trimester!  Also Paul Pitchford :  “Healing with Whole Foods”, great sections on eating for pregnancy and just over all health.

10.  Naps-  Listening to my body.  I usually need about a 2 hour nap everyday.   I go from feeling like blah, to la :).  Sleep get some :).

Those are few of my favorite things that really help support my pregnancy.

Wow only 3 more months.   My goals are to stay positive, meditate daily, create an amazing space for my daughter to live ( in and out of the womb), stretch daily, move my body everyday, eat foods that support her and I, and enjoy this time between Mr.Kabonnagreen and I before she comes.

I have wanted to update more.  But i have not been sitting in front of the computer much these days.  ITs better for me to be relaxing on a the soft couch or carpet stretching, walks, and while i have had ideas for blogs, not ever wanting to sit down long enough to get them down.   So maybe this can be my new writing hour ha ha.  We shall see.

Goodnight all.  She just stop moving.  So time for some more rest!
